I’ve been lucky enough to have incredible mentors along the way, and that’s sparked in me a passion for helping others unlock their own potential.

At Howdens, building a digital team wasn’t just about filling roles - it was about assembling a powerhouse of talent with the values and ethics that aligned with our mission. By bringing in the right Subject Matter Experts, we didn’t just meet our goals; we surpassed them, driving substantial growth for the company.

At RM Resources, the challenge was a bit different. I took on the task of reshaping a legacy team, blending fresh talent with seasoned high performers. Coaching, mentoring, and empowering people to step up into bigger roles was a hands-on, rewarding experience. Leading a team of around 80, with 8 direct reports internationally, I made it a priority to create a culture where collaboration and support weren’t just buzz words—they were in our DNA. The mantra was simple: we win as a team, or not at all. This approach didn’t just get results; it built a lasting legacy of strong leadership ready to take the reins.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about leadership, it’s that you never stop learning—or at least, you shouldn’t! I make a point to regularly ask my teams for their honest feedback because, let’s face it, they’re the ones who keep me from thinking I’m perfect. Their candid insights help keep me grounded and continuously grow as a leader.

For me, leadership goes far beyond just setting a strategy—it’s about unlocking the potential in others, developing an environment where innovation thrives, and where every team member feels empowered to make impactful decisions. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching people I’ve mentored surpass their own expectations, building their own paths to success.
